Sonya wanted to say that it didn't matter: soldiers died in battle all the time, it was inevitable: however Johnny wasn't a soldier, he was a civilian and a casualty (even covered by an impersonall word it stung).
"I'll live." She couldn't bring herself to say she was fine, she wasn't-but it wasn't as if this was unfamiliar territory for her. "Just, need a day or two, thanks though."
She stood up, collecting her things and offered Bella a small grin as she walked past her. "I'm sure your friend will arrive soon."
Now that the shock was starting to wear off, Sonya was suddenly aware that she hadn't had a proper shower or bath since the start of the invasion, as both water and food were rationed. Here they had a full on shower and bath, and right now the thought of a hot shower (and privacy) seemed a luxury at the moment.
