It took everything for Sonya to not spend the day outside instead of heading over to the cabin. Back home, after the Outworld merger, the sun was darkened so that even at high noon, it was no lighter than it would be during dusk, so when she saw how blue the sky was here, and how green and well-friendly-everything looked, it almost seemed like a dream: the fact that her injuries had healed on arrival didn't help matters. What brought it down was how real it all felt, and while it could've been some sort of hallucination created by sorcery, the details didn't match up. Why would someone create an illusion where she was employed and required to work: surely they would've wanted her to feel relaxed and not worry about anything? Odds are this was just another form of higher power that wanted to collect mortals for their own use: maybe it was like indentured servitude and they were free to go after a period of time-but then time meant different things to different people. Sonya made her way to the cabin, carefully trying out one of the keys that the manager gave her. When the door opened, she only reacted with caution-and a bit (a lot) of surprise as she explored the house.
The place was huge. Sure, the army bases where Sonya was stationed in were spartan, but they were clean and as a Lieutenant she had the use of the officer's club, but this place made all of them look like hovels. The kitchen, living room, and patio were all more than she was used to, but considering it's size and the number of chairs, Sonya guessed that she wasn't the only one living here, which was good because it meant that she might be able to get more information about this place.
She found her room, not bothering to remove her gear as she gave the area a quick look over: under the bed, closet (the fact that they knew her size and style of clothing made her more wary), and dresser. All things considered with the clothing and laundry, they were probably going to be here for awhile, which didn't ease Sonya's mind at all-not when she was needed back home. Guests be damned, she had other things to worry about besides some damned resort.
Sonya smiled to herself when she found a pair of tweezers among the toilettries in her draw. If she was going to seach the place, she wanted to do it properly and that meant looking for bugs and possible hidden cameras. Obviously she couldn't look through the other bed rooms without permission, but those could wait.
Heading back to the kitchen for a small knife, she started her mission in the living room, figuring that with all of the electronics there, it would be an obvious place to hide something and not fear detection. The tv (obviously a new design) was the first target, not the screen itself but rather the box attached to it.
She had just started when she heard someone enter the house. She set the box down (having already put it back together) and quickly made her way to the wall near the door, hand on the hilt of her combat knife: Sonya had had one too many close calls to not be on guard.
