Bella smiled as the door opened, turning back to face Jake. "It's all as dangerous for me," she reminded him, stepping backwards to give him space to get outside. It was true; no matter what she did, she'd end up falling. She couldn't even walk over a flat surface without finding something to trip over.
Hoisting the rope up a little higher again, she turned and walked down of the porch. She was excited and a little nervous, the way she had been when they'd tryed out the motorbikes. Still, she doubted she'd hear Edward in her head this time, which made her a little sad. The motorbikes, the cliff jumping, the men in Port Angeles... it had all been to hear Edward. He'd told her not to do anything reckless then. This time, it was just her own strange notion. Still, she knew if Edward was here, he probably wouldn't let her climb a tree. He was protective of her, but sometimes she just wanted to do things on her own.
"Any idea where we're going?" she asked, glancing back at Jake. There were a lot of trees around the resort and Bella had no idea what made for good climbing.
