The man behind the desk, with his fixed serene smile, had been little to no help. He knew what the device in his hand was, and that was the extent of his knowledge of it. It was rather disturbing how the thing would illuminate and shake every so often, and at different intervals. He had been half tempted to throw it the first time the cell phone had done it. The only thing that had kept him from doing so was the fact that the device might prove useful in the future once he learned to operate it.
As for the rest of the things he had been given, his job was described to him rather vaguely. Yet it did not seem all that difficult. Even if he did not know what a Spa was exactly. He was able to find the cabin that he was to, apparently, share. Yet he did not enter, not just yet. The strong sense of not knowing ones surroundings urged him to follow the paths to see just where they led him. The documents, and cell phone tucked into his doublet for the time being. The keys, though strange as they were, put upon the ring that he wore upon his belt.
The familiar scent of horses drew him to the stables. He had heavy doubts that his own steed would be within the confines but it would not hurt to look. Upon entering his gaze touched every horse within. Some were quite fine specimens, but none were his own. He was at a loss. Unsure what to do, how to get back to where he belonged, if he could get back. Marian was grieving a great loss, surely she would need someone at her side.
He reached out, a gloved hand, to stroke the muzzle of one rather beautiful rich black mare. If the opportunity presented itself, perhaps he would take this one. She did not shy away from his touch, nor did she throw her head in protest. He wondered about her speed.
