The number of quips and comments she could fire back at him just kept coming, but she didn't say any of them. He meant well, she knew that. But he had left, and that had affected her trust in him to a point. She did need someone at her back. Another Slayer, Xander, Willow, Giles, someone who had been there for, who had stuck by her and put up with all her crap to stand and fight next to her. Still, she knew he meant well. "Yeah." she agreed, with a nod. "I'm really going to miss having an army." she added, as if it was the most casual thing. An entire army could cover every inch of her back.
At the cookie comment, she laughed a little, glancing up at him. "Sure do. That was always my reward for a jobs well done from Giles." maybe not always, but there was usually cookies around his house somewhere she could get into. "My watcher." she added quickly, remembering that Pike might not actually know anything about her watcher, and now one of the squad leaders. She'd never quite heard of anything like that. "I've fought hellhounds." she suggested. "But they were really harry and generally their breath smelled bad." plus they crashed the prom, which was a giant pain the ass for her friends, Buffy had wanted them to have a normal prom. "Also my friend Xander became a hyena-man for a period of time. He had the smelling thing." which, by the way, was still a little gross, no matter what kind of non-human you were. "Can't say I've heard of anything else quite the same though."
She hadn't let them stop for too long, and soon they were standing infront of the Ice Room, and she pushed the door open. Only half staffed, no customers, she had wondered what the staff did for entertainment in here while they were 'open.' "Well if you're offering." she replied, not missing a beat. Was she going to say no to a free drink? She wasn't that crazy.
Having already been over this room, she paid little attention to he surroundings, and just looked for the manager again, just in case. But of course, he wasn't there. The coward. She scowled for just a moment as he proved to once again not be there, before turning her attention to the bar. This place sure wasn't the Bronze, but it was kind of nice to be back in a bar like setting.
