Compared to most of the stuff she'd been through at this stupid resort, this was nothing. She'd been through a lot worse. Ripping out her Grace hurt more than this. Having it nearly pulled through her chest hurt more than this. Being tortured to insanity by her siblings hurt more than this. Having her wings eaten and the wound festering and destroying her from the inside out hurt more than this. This was definitely one of the least painful injuries that she'd received since ended up at Ridgeway.
... but that didn't mean it didn't hurt like hell. And it was bleeding everywhere. There was no way she was going to stop bleeding like that with just her hand. But she was stubborn and trying her damnedest to keep from breaking down right now.
So instead of answering his rhetorical question, she tried to turn her focus somewhere other than the pain and the blood. Like her confused and broken heart. "Thanks for the flowers."
