Something stirred his consciousness, but he wasn't sure what. It took him a few moments to realise there was someone standing near him, though in his half asleep state he hadn't made all the connections about where here was, and who it might be, yet.
When he felt hands at the blanket at his waist, his own arm moved, fingers wrapping around a wrist before he'd opened his eyes. When they did, he was awake instantly, and became aware of not only where he was, but whose wrist he was holding, and he released it just as quickly.
"Sorry, I didn't...sorry." Maybe he was used to Marian being beside him when he slept. Or maybe he was unused to these surroundings. But he hadn't woken like that in a while.
