Cordelia was going stir-crazy staying cooped up in her cabin. It was one thing to be stuck inside because of research on some new Big Bad. It was also one thing to stay stuck inside for an occasional random rainstorm. But the fact that it hadn't stopped raining since it began, and the fact that the only Big Bad around wasn't one she could exactly research, meant that the brunette was far too out of her element to simply sit still. She needed to burn off some energy. She needed to get away from the same four walls. She finally decided to go for a walk.
Finding an umbrella wasn't all that difficult. She could have sworn there hadn't been one in the coat closet the last time she'd looked in there, but there was definitely one there now. Which suited her just fine because, with or without it, she was going outside. She would just much rather go with it.
And so she went. Making sure she had her cellphone on her just in case, the brunette headed out the front door of the cabin and back down the path that she'd followed to get there. The ground squished softly beneath her feet as she walked, too sodden to maintain its firm structure in the face of so much excess water. A glance at the lake proved it to already have risen a few decent inches since the whole thing had started. If it kept up, she realized, they really might have to swim just to get around.
It worried her, if she was being honest with herself. The fact that she was here and not dead. The fact that no one should have had the power to do such a thing and yet clearly, someone had. The fact that that same someone had now caused such a torrential downpour and didn't seem all that keen on stopping it anytime soon. If he could do things like that, what else could he do? What else would he do?
Truth be told, Cordelia didn't want to find out. She just wanted to go back to being dead, back to the eternal reward that she'd both been promised as well as earned. Obviously, though, that wasn't currently in the cards. And there was no way in this reality, hers, or any other, that she was going to let that manager see just how nervous this whole situation made her. Never let them see you sweat had been a motto of hers for years for a reason and she saw no point in ignoring it now.
"Well," she muttered as she absently kicked at a small stone on the path, "at least I still have my visions. I guess tall, dark, and sketchy couldn't take those away, even if he did cost me Heaven. Stupid jerk."
She was so lost in thought that she never noticed the person up ahead of her. It wasn't until she almost smacked directly into them that she realized there was anyone there. Instantly she came to a stop, very nearly toppling over in order to avoid a collision. A few drops of rain dripped from the front of her umbrella, falling precariously close to her nose, as she glanced up to see just who it was that she'd almost met up close and personally.
