Knowing he wouldn't change her mind was what made up a lot of his reluctance to bring it up. And that put him in an impossible situation, because Heather deserved to be defended just as much as Anna did. It served to amuse him sometimes that what served as 'impossible' in his life now was situations like this, as compared to assassination plots on the King, or training a group of men too young to be at war, or running through Sherwood from the Sheriffs men and their dogs.
