Since his arrival at the resort, Fredrick had thought he could start anew and forget about the killings that he had committed under strict order. It was kill hundreds of Jews or be killed himself. Even if he had denied such a task, a replacement would be called in while his life would be slipping away from him. He had done what he had done to keep others from having to go through such a pain, but really none of that was the case. It had seemed that everyone knew what he had accomplished, not liking it particularly one bit. There were days that he stayed in his cabin alone just because he didn't want to deal with any ill words spoken towards him. He wanted to forget what he had done, but others, such as Emmanuelle, allowed themselves to speak the blunt truth. He was good at nothing else in his life. If he couldn't be treated with respect, only as much as any other person recieved, there really no use in remaining in contact with anyone, especially attractive females such as the one before him.
He wasn't a bad person, everyone just made him out to be for one reason or another.
"The way you say that, it seems as you think that I'm no good at anything else," he replied, letting his expression upon his face change to the complete opposite. Fredrick knew that he showed that truly clear. If there was someway to return to his own time, he would gladly take it, despite the fact that it would mean having unpleasent tasks set before him. At least there, he was treated with some respect. In his time, he was treated like a person should be.
The longer the conversation between the two of them continued on, a few people lingered near to catch what they were conversing about. For the most part, Fredrick barely noticed them and he doubted that guests had the intellegence to learn a different language, so their small talk was safe for the most part. Maybe it was because he had been used to many eyes upon him from his few years within the German army and obtaining the title as a war hero. However, he'd give all that up just to return home. Was there a reason that he was taken from what he considered comfortable surroundings to be placed within an area that he was completely despised? It honestly didn't help that Emmanuelle had pushed him back for whispering something to her. Fredrick didn't know what was going on in her mind, but he didn't want everyone to know each detail of their conversation. It was none of her co-worker's business, nor any of the guest. What had occurred between them only involved them. He didn't even care if they were alone and she conducted the actions of shooting him once again, ending his life. That would be better then remaining there.
"No," he replied firmly, having enough of the horrible treatment she was giving him. Fredrick did his best to be kind and conduct himself as a gentleman in public to her. No ill thoughts were within his mind, even though the male had the right to disilke her for what she had done. The actions shouldn't be forgivable. Shooting an officier within the German army had the penalty of death, however, he was big enough to push that aside and treat her the way she should he treated. He didn't expect to be treated like he was a criminal though. "I have done nothing wrong to you, however, you treat me like I am some monster. All I've done was treat you like how a woman should be treated and helped your cinema in sales." Fredrick wanted to reach out to her, pull her close, and yell at her for a good couple of minutes so she would get it through her thick skull that he was only trying to be nice. He wished her the best in all of her endevours as well. Still, he couldn't comprehend the reason she treated him so badly.
Mademoiselle, you do owe me an explaination for your behavior, he replied narrowing his eyes just slightly, not daring to glance away from the woman.
