It was the sound of agreement from another that pulled Fredrick from his gaze at the horrible sense of taste that movie-goers had in that day of age. Films used to have standout titles and posters that had a bit of class within them. Best of all, all the movies were in black and white. There was something about color in films that drew him away. In old films, it gave them flavor and an element of being able to enjoy exactly what one saw without the distractions of flashly lights or color explosions. He had enough of his fair share of explosions in his young age, however, that didn't stop him from wanting to return to his own time.
Fredrick knew that he didn't belong there and Emmanuelle should know that as well. Besides, he would have made her cinema bigger then it had ever been destined to be. She should be thanking him, instead of giving him a bullet in his back to end his life. Sure, he pushed his way into her life, but that was because she was over doing the hard to get part. There was only a certain amount that he was willing to take; however, he wasn't going to do anything out of the ordinary to her. Last time he checked, it wasn't a crime to want some attention from an attractive girl. The least she could do was let him in her life just a little at a time. Playing hard to get was Fredrick's least favorite role when it came to grabbing the attention of the opposite sex.
As Fredrick's eyes shifted towards the woman on the ladder, he gazed up slightly, but not a bit surprised of who was near him. He had done like he had asked and stayed away from Shosanna for a short amount of time, so finally coming around would make her realize that she honestly did miss him, right? Well, he hoped so. Besides, he was all that she knew in this less than adaquete place to be trapped in. They were bound to make some sort of connection again. At least, he simply hoped that they would. He was still very much attracted to her. It did also help that anything that he wanted would surely become his own in a matter of time. With her, he was making sure that he took his time. Obviously, they needed to have a private conversation of what really was going through each other's mind the night that they were supposed to take their very last breath together.
"Ah, Mademoiselle Mimieux, I did not expect to see you here," he spoke in a charming tone of voice. "Really." Fredrick's eyes moved down her body, while her feet carefully brought her back to ground level. Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea to pretend that nothing was wrong with them. It was obvious that something was. Whatever that certain something was, it was driving Emmanuelle away from him. Making a mental note to start making more appearences around the woman once again, he titled his head a little. The clothes that she wore had been very familar to him, noticing them right off the bat. It had almost seemed that she was expecting him to make an appearence, since he had first met her wearing those exact clothes. Coincidence that he had done the same as well. Fate. That's what it had to be. She simply needed to see it now.
Just as Emmanuelle had reached the ground level and looked in his general direction, Fredrick shifted his postion to make sure it was one side of the woman as opposed to behind. He reached for her hand and bowed slightly, placing a kiss on the top softly. "It is good to see you again. How have you been? Besides running a cinema that would be considered a travesty compared to the movies from our time," he repsonded in French for her benefit moments after the small gesture of his own.
