"You've got the scent to back it up. It's not a fault unless you were in a relationship, I'd think," Ianto dismissed it, though his next words were a bit sobering to him as well. Yes, that sounded like the Jack he knew, too. Everything was light, breakable. He never bonded with anybody that firmly, and Ianto knew he wasn't the only one who felt that way.
"Is that why you never talk about your past?" he asked, leaning against his fist. "That makes sense, I suppose. But no. I meant... not untouchable. You touch. You touch a lot. But it's more... fleeting. And I've never heard of you settling with anybody for too long. But with Torchwood... well. Everybody there dies, usually quickly. Makes sense not to get involved with anybody there."
