Anna almost responded that he probably wanted to leave her out here. But she decided that would be counter-productive. Things were already hard, no sense making them harder. Honestly, she just wanted to curl up on the grass and sleep where she was. Not because she was tired, but because she could stop feeling all these things when she was asleep.
