"Marian and I used to go riding when we were younger. I taught her how to ride astride, instead of side saddle, because she could never keep up. Her father was horrified," he told her around a bit of a laugh. The look on Edward's face had been almost comical. But Robin had taken the blame for it. He hadn't cared that it wasn't considered proper, or lady like. He had wanted to be able to ride with his friend, and not have her be so concerned for such sensibilities.
He glanced at the little dial showing the speed, pressing his foot down further on the pedal. The increase in speed was good, but not so much that it was going to bother his efforts.
"I don't know what half of what I am listening to on the iPod you gave me is. I just decide whether I like something or not, to choose whether I listen to it again." He could understand her explanation. "The poor have always been invisible. I doubt that will ever change." He had done his best to give the people in his village a chance to be heard. But that was only one village of many.
