"I wouldn't have said it otherwise." He was used to her awkward reactions to compliments, and the blushing. It was one of the reasons he chose to give them. That, and simply because they were true.
He smiled at that. "The ground beneath you is the last thing on your mind when you're in the company of the person you love beneath the stars. Or that's what I've found," he added with a wink. He glanced up when she opened the roof. The warmth of the sun coming in was very nice. Again, he did as she suggested, pressing his foot just slightly down on the pedal. It was interesting to feel the resulting reaction, as the car continued its forward motion.
