WHO: Anna & Robin WHEN: after her fight with Petersen WHERE: Locksley Manor WHAT: Anna's recovering and hiding RATING: nothing worse than bad language
Eventually Anna dragged herself off the grass. She didn't hurt physically anymore, but she was exhausted. Her Grace felt heavy. Her limbs were numb and practically useless. Petersen had healed where he'd thrown her into a tree. He'd mended the part of her Grace that he'd ripped through. The bruises and scratches were gone. For a guy who swore he didn't love her anymore, he'd spent his Grace taking care of her instead of himself after she'd kneed him in the gut and they were both exhausted, broken, and useless. But he left. And Anna trudged toward Locksley Manor.
She didn't knock. She pushed open the door, only bothering to close it because she knew Katie was in the house somewhere. Anna moved toward the couch and slid onto it. She didn't bother to call out or even look around for Robin or Marian. She just lay down on the couch and threw an arm over her eyes. She didn't cry, but there was a deep empty ache in her chest. She probably looked half dead sprawled out on the couch. She was dirty, her hair was tangled, and she was probably more pale than usual. She just wanted to sink into nothingness for a while, somewhere that no one would push her to talk about her feelings.
