Sam caught the smile and reciprocated the gesture. Far be it for him to be stupid enough not to smile back. "I don't know much about wine, but Claire at the store said that it was good, and she seems pretty knowledgeable, so let's see how true that rings," he chuckled.
She mentioned that he could sit on the couch and he felt his cheeks tinge pink as he gave her a nervous smile. He was pretty good at making a fool of himself. He nodded his head and stood up, placing himself on the couch, but giving her enough space to sit as far from him as she wanted. He wasn't crammed against the arm of the couch or anything, but he wasn't taking up a lot of space - which he knew he was more than capable of doing, being as tall as he was.
"Mine's just...a little plainer than this. I don't think I've taken as much time as I should have to decorate it," he explained simply, smirking sheepishly. "Personalization more than decoration, like I said," he shrugged. "I have all the same amenities and everything."
He picked up the DVD's from the table and handed them to her. "Whichever one you wanted to watch first is fine with me. The French one is more of a gift, but we can watch that, too." A small smile, and he continued. "Little piece of home, I guess."
