Bella glanced up, hearing the footsteps as someone walked into the kitchen. She recognised their other room mate, Pike or something similar. She'd seen his name in a couple of comments on the internet community and Jo had mentioned his staying there, but she hadn't run into him properly before.
She forced a small smile, turning the cold tap on to rinse out the clothe. "Yeah," she said, looking back down at the sink. She wasn't good at meeting new people. She remembered that first day at Forks High school and the way she had wanted nothing more than to just sink into the ground. Situations like this, one on one, weren't so bad, but she still couldn't help flushing slightly, feeling nervous. She had a feeling it didn't help that she knew she was actually living with these strangers.
Wringing out the cloth, she turned off the tap and draped the cloth over the head to dry. Shaking her hands dry, Bella looked back up at her room mate. "There's some tomato pasta in the freezer if you're hungry," she offered, nodding towards the fridge-freezer in the corner of the kitchen. She had never shared a house before, but she knew that students and flat mates sometimes labelled their food and belongings. Still, she didn't mind sharing. She had made too much pasta, so used to leaving left overs for Charlie, and it would just depress her if it wasn't eaten by somebody.
