Anna was standing next to the shower with the curtain open enough that she could have reached in to start it. She obviously hadn't. She still had the towel Cas had handed her hugged against her chest. She barely even looked up when Jo spoke. Really, for a minute there it seemed like she hadn't even realized Jo was in the house, let alone speaking to her or close enough to touch her.
It was the touch that did it. Anna physically trembled for a minute. She hadn't even realized there was that much emotion in her, just thought she was staring into space in a daze. But no, apparently she'd been fighting off a wave of heavy emotion. It was fighting to break the surface right now and all she could do was try to stand firm on her own two feet and not let Jo take the brunt of it.
Better to redirect. "I'm sorry, Jo." At least if she was talking about what she'd done to Jo (or what she thought she was doing, by being here, those stupid dreams, being a crap maid of honor, etc) they weren't talking about the way that her life had been turned upside down and ripped to shreds because she was a stupid girl who fell for the first charming guy who pretended to be nice to her.
