Who: X-23(Laura) and Klaus (Open to Gabriel?) Where: The clearing across the lake. When: Thursday Morning What: One called the other out. It was time to pit skill against skill. Rating: Medium for violence and possible excessive blood loss. Knowing the meeting place, Laura did not hesitate. She had spent the evening going against the toughest of the tough. The roughest of the rough. The most deadly of the mutants anyone in her world had come across in the Danger Room. But it was one thing to go against holograms, no matter how real they seemed, and the real thing. There was always that part of your mind that knew they couldn't kill you. No matter how bad they hurt. The one she didn't dare go against was Nimrod. There was a tiny part of her that feared the Sentinel from the future. Before she had not, but now she had a lot to lose.
All of which she was willing to fight this... Vampire for. All that she gained in this place. It was strange that she was willing to lay her life in the line for Ridgeway. A place that a man, who abducted her from everything she had known, had created. Klaus had crossed the line. She knew her 'brother', the man she was cloned from-James Howlett, aka Wolverine, aka Logan, wouldn't have stood for it. Laura was striving to be good like he was. With Robin's, Tony's and Gabriel's help she was becoming what she wanted to be. Klaus would not wreck that.
So there she was, standing in the clearing, having come shortly after dawn. Where she had first met Robin in the flesh. Where they had created their son. Laura felt a connection here that she didn't feel anywhere else. She felt odds were on her side in this spot. It was also far enough away from anything else that she knew no one would be put at a risk. Nor did she have to worry about doing damage to any structures. The only thing that stood to come down were the trees around them.
Laura sat meditating in the center of the clearing. Her palms open skyward. One deep breath taken after another. It would seem as if she was taking relaxing breaths, but the truth was she was scenting the air. So that her opponent could not surprise her. And she was dressed for action. Dressed in a full leather body suit, the original had been contracted by Charles Xavier. Halter in nature, to keep her arms free, save for the leather gauntlets that bound each wrist. A simple black belt, with a gold buckle bearing the X men symbol, and thick soled metal buckled, special made, boots were the whole of her costume. Long black hair flowed freely down her back. She was ready. She was waiting.
