Things had been strange ever since they found out the truth about Merlin, and she was worried about the fact he had not responded to Arthur about it all. Maybe they had to try a face to face conversation with him but she knew how betrayed Arthur felt over this, and she did too a little. She understood why he would want to keep it quiet but after everything with Morgana she did not like the thought that her other best friend had been hiding the same secret from her for who knew how long. She needed to become friendly again with Morgana, for Arthur’s sake mostly, but now she had to think on Merlin too. Think on what he was able to do. He had saved her life if what Arthur had found out was true and risked his own life in the process. And she honestly did believe that Merlin only meant good with his magic. She just wanted him to tell her the truth and wished they didn’t hear it from another source.
She don’t know why she had ended up by the stables, perhaps the idea of home was a little stronger near here. After all she had to walk past the stables a lot back in Camelot and she did associate horses with Arthur in an odd way. She had fond memories of seeing him so calm and loving with a horse. It had been nice to see; a man who genuinely cared for his animals. Even if he didn’t do the cleaning aspects of taking care of his horse he did do what he could to check it was okay. And yes, her heart always skipped a beat when she saw him taking care of his animals, purely because it wasn’t expected from a man of his station.
It didn’t take her long to find where the horse’s were secured and she reached out to gently run her hand over one of the horse’s that were near the fencing. She had been taught to ride by both her father and Morgana when she was younger. Well Morgana liked to ride so it made sense that her maid knew. Smiling, she patted the horse’s nose.
“Aren’t you beautiful.”
