Remus found listening to the beat helpful. It aided him in deciding how to dance. He didn't dare do that bumping and grinding thing others were doing, unsure of whether or not Tonks liked it. Maybe the people dancing like that had been together for some time and were comfortable being like that with each other in public. He had no idea about the promiscuity of young people who grew up in these times. Poor thing.
He was having a good time, twirling, twisting, doing crazy steps he just made up. Hell, this was fun, even without being able to understand every word of the song.
