"No secrets," he agreed. It wasn't so much that he kept things from her, there were just things that it hadn't occurred to him to say. Like what he'd eventually told her about his Mum. He didn't really need to tell her that he was a commitment phobe, that was obvious enough to anyone.
He wasn't going to say it out loud, but he didn't buy that. He didn't think, especially since she was in the body of a kid, that hormones had anything to do with it. He just thought she let people, particularly her equally as stubborn older brother, get under her skin. He glanced down at her, though didn't stop the path of her fingers over his jaw. "There's no reason for it, you know that right? No one here's better than you, and I know you're always going to blush...but that's different to genuinely feeling like you're less important."
As for the drinking, he couldn't lie about that. It did bother him. Sure he got drunk with his frat brothers sometimes, but that was it. People who drank every day reminded him of his parents, and how fucked up you could become, really easily.
