Anna didn't bother to hide the expression as she looked up at him. she was skeptical. Not because she thought he'd hurt Aiden, she just wasn't sure if he was up for being left alone with their son. He clearly didn't want to hold the kid, but she didn't want to cut him off if he was interested in trying. Baby steps. She had to remind herself that this was going to take time and tact.
Reaching over, Anna pulled the bassinet close again and dropped the side so it could tuck under the mattress and fit flush against it. She shifted Aiden down into it, swaddling the blanket flush around him. Another glance at Crowley, just to be sure he was okay with this, and then Anna slid off the end of the bed. She'd adjusted her room so the bathroom didn't have a proper door and the doorway was wider, just because it made the room seem bigger now that there was more furniture. It also made the separation anxiety a bit easier on her part.
She flipped on the shower, wiggled out of her jammies, and reached her hand in the test the water and wait. She was definitely having mom anxiety issues. But if she couldn't trust him now, it would put a speed bump in this whole thing. She had to at least try.
