Isobel stood in her doorway, taking in the sight. While it stood to reason that if she was an adult he would be too, it was still incredible to actually see it. She'd gotten as used to seeing him as a 10-year-old as she had gotten to living herself. She'd known the change wasn't permanent, Peterson himself had confirmed that. But a part of her felt like she would never truly see her husband again.
She stood there, tears welling in her eyes--she hadn't cried in so long, she wasn't sure how to handle it. The only thing that would tell Ric that her tears were happy ones would be the smile on her face. "We're back," she confirmed his own words. "Come here," she told him. She wanted to hug him and kiss him, and it was taking a lot of restraint to not do that right now. There was one other thing she wanted to do now.
She reached for his hand and pulled him closer, placing his hand over her heart--how she even remembered exactly where it was was beyond her. Maybe it was from her numerous victims. The heart would always beat faster when a person was afraid, so she would feel it while drinking from them. She shook that thought quickly. She would deal with the guilt later. Right now she wanted to be happy. Her own heart was beating fast now, in the excitement of waking up adult, the wonder of being human and the happiness seeing Ric also an adult, she had a lot of emotions running through her that she hadn't felt in a long two years.
