Lily shook her head. "They don't and I understand that, but over the generations things have changed. We're not at war in my time and you taught us not to be prejudice against anyone--especially the Malfoys. Fighting with Scorpius was my choice, mostly because I didn't want him or my family to know how I really felt. But here, I don't know he was confused when he got here and I was the only one he really knew so I spent some time with him and the truth came out. He didn't want to fight any more than I did." It actually felt good to get this out. She'd been holding in how she felt about everything. Dominique had known about her feelings before Scorpius even arrived, but she was pregnant and Lily hadn't wanted to dump too much on her.
"If you want to..." she said. "Maybe you should get to know him first. If you see that he's different for yourself you might have a little more to convince them with."
