"He uses his magic to help you, and Camelot," Robin answered. Largely, that was how things went in the stories, anyway. He had a brief moment where he wondered if he'd just put his foot in his mouth, if Arthur didn't know Merlin was a wizard. But that made no sense. He had to know.
"Oh, I agree with you for the most part." Robin understood having a role you had to fulfil all too well. And no one had said the choices were ever easy. "But it certainly gives one something to think about," he added.
Robin slid his sword back in to its scabbard, stretching his right arm across his body, then doing the same with his left as he answered. "I was Captain of the King's guard, in the Holy Land." Realising that would mean little to Arthur, he went on. "We fought Saracens, who have a different style of fighting to the English. This sword is of saracen design," he indicated the blade at his side.
