Teddy looked up from the magazine he was reading when he heard the door open. He hadn't been sure whether it was safe to sit around in the living room, but finally he'd decided that he couldn't spend his life walking on eggshells just because his dad was around. Sure, it was going to be awkward trying to forge a relationship with a man nearly eight years younger than him, but they'd deal with it. They gotten on alright the other day, and that was definitely a good start. If they bumped into each other around the cabin, they could just smile and wave. It would be a gradual process.
Teddy put the magazine aside and sat more upright on the couch, looking over towards the hallway. "Vic?" he called, wondering if it was her coming home from work. She had been really great through this whole thing with his dad. She had put aside all their troubles and really tried to support him. It meant a lot to him, that kind of effort. He hoped he was showing her he was worth it.
