Elena wanted to stomp her foot and say that it hadn't been her idea! But she would never sell Stefan and Damon down the river. She had seen wisdom in their logic once she had finally agreed to sit down and listen to them. Had she wished she could have done it without killing Elijah? Yes. He hadn't done anything directly to her....Yet. Oh sure he had killed poor Trevor in front of her very eyes and ripped the heart out of two other vampires shortly thereafter. But he had pardoned Rose. He hadn't gone after her when he caught her with she and Damon shortly after she tried to hand herself over to Klaus. He hadn't hurt Jenna when being invited into their house. He was a man of honor and Elena had done wrong. Now, here she was arguing and being petulant with a man who could easily kill her. She really needed to rethink her strategy.
"I do see the error in what I've done," Elena replied honestly. "I meant i when I said that what they did to you wasn't right. What I did was worse, but I knew you were a man who honored your deals and I betrayed you anyway. Like I said, I won't apologize for choosing to live, but I will apologize for not finding another way to do it. I'm sorry, Elijah." She cautiously stood up from where he shoved her in the hay and put her arms out in front of her. "I only wish to stand. The hay is making me itch." She could hear the stomping and neighing of horses around her, but she chose to ignore that for now. She focused her eyes on the original before her. "I am willing to listen to any agreement you wish to reach with me, Elijah. I may be stubborn and headstrong and...utterly reckless...but I'm not unreasonable. I only wish to live my life in peace here, to be able to raise my baby in peace. To keep my loved ones safe. I have no reason to offer you as to why you should not kill me. You'll end up doing what you want in the end. I can only get on my hands and knees and beg you not too. I don't think even you would kill a pregnant woman, even if she has done you wrong in the past."
