WHO: Elena and Stefan WHEN: Sunday afternoon WHERE: Cabin 20 then the hospital WHAT: Stefan isn't getting any reply from Elena on her phone RATING: Low to Mid STATUS: Incomplete
Stefan had waited about five minutes, worrying more about Elena as every moment went by without a reply. Before long, he couldn't stand it any more and rushed out of the Buono Gusto kitchen. He ran as fast as he could back to their cabin, bursting through the door and practically flying up the stairs to their room. There was no sign of her anywhere in there.
He stopped, listening to the sound in the cabin with all his vampiric ability. He could smell blood and hear someone breathing, but where? He followed his nose and the tiny sounds back down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Elena!" he cried immediately as he saw her laying on the floor. In an instant, he was by her side. The smell of the blood was making his stomach growl like a hungry animal, and he felt the tightening around his eyes as the vampire took hold of him, but he had more important things on his mind than hunger. "Elena," he said again, putting a hand out to brush the wound in her temple. It wasn't bad, but it was bad enough. Her breathing was shallow and her skin had turned a ghostly white. Without thinking, he scooped her up into his arms and headed out of the cabin. He moved at a human speed, trying not to jolt her around too much. "It's okay," he said to her. "It'll be alright. I'm taking you to the hospital." He didn't know if she was even conscious, but talking to her was helping him ignore the blood that was smeared over the side of her face.
He had no idea what had happened to her - Elijah couldn't have found her that quickly, and besides, she'd never have let him into the house - but she was bleeding and that was enough cause for her to go to the hospital. Now, more than ever, Stefan was worried about her. She was everything to him. He couldn't lose her.
