Jessica actually let Adam lead her to the bench. She was starting to open up, starting to trust him. He was freaked out, but she'd been freaked out the first time she realized she cried blood. It was understandable. But he was being nice to her, not treating her like a monster or a burden. That was good.
"People did love vampires... when they thought they were fake. Two years ago they came out of the coffin and everything changed." Jessica was still referring to vampires as if she wasn't one of them because when all that stuff happened, she wasn't one of them. She was a girl until a few months ago. "There was that whole Twilight craze and I guess they figured everyone would love them if they let the world know they really existed. But it wasn't like that. Now everyone is scared. And there are extremist groups that try to kill us. The Fellowship of the Sun or something. They're bad. They claim to be Christian but I ain't never read nothing in the bible that talks about killing folks just cuz they're already dead."
