He glared after her, processing her words. "Isobel!" he called before mounting the stairs and taking them two at a time. She had entered her room but not shut the door, so he stopped in the doorway to watch her, his jaws flaring angrily.
"Tell me... just why can't you be yourself? Because that's all I need from you. That's all I've ever needed from you," he said, arms braced on the doorframe, his fingers digging into the wood. He had so many emotions running through his body... he was in a constant state of turmoil and he hated the feeling.
