"Interesting is one way of putting it," Adam deadpanned and ran a hand through his hair. "Let's see and do the reader's digest version. My brothers accidentally kick-started the apocalypse, set the devil free and Michael, the archangel Michael, had to come to Earth to fight the devil. In order to do that, he needed a body to inhabit."
Adam spread out his arms and shrugged though he felt nowhere near as nonchalant as he probably sounded. The tremble in his voice might have been a give-away, too. "Turns out that...Dean resisted but I...I just didn't know how. Excuse me for a moment."
He turned around abruptly and took several steadying breaths, his hands balled into fists. He wasn't ready to deal with this. He just...wasn't. Adam bit his bottom lip then gave himself a mental push. He refused to be broken.
When he turned around, Adam's smile was still shaky but held in place by sheer stubbornness. "Let's just get started, okay?"
