Alaric watched Adam closely, placing the coffee on the ground by his foot. He wanted to do something to comfort the young man, but didn't know what. He wasn't so great at the touchy-feely stuff, really.
"Ghouls? Adam... I'm sorry. That had to be terrible to go through," he said solemnly. "I can understand your determination to learn about the things that go bump in the night." He truly hadn't thought about how it would be to be attacked by something like that, and now that he did think about it, he was a little freaked.
