Alaric shook Adam's hand, grinning widely. "Coffee sounds wonderful," he replied, dropping the duffel bag on the ground by his feet. Adam was eager to learn and that was more than what Alaric could say for his kids back in Mystic Falls. They were only too eager to leave his classroom. Then again, he wasn't teaching them this interesting stuff.
Remembering the little extra he had packed, he knelt beside the bag and unzipped the front. He pulled out a sprig of vervain. Standing, he held it out to Adam. "Crumble a bit of that into your coffee, then keep the rest in your shirt pocket for the day," he advised.
