Jeremy nodded with a smile, taking his jacket back as she handed it to him. He pulled it back on around his shoulders. He could smell her perfume lingering on it. It was nice; sweet but not sickly.
Leading the way, he crossed to one of the booths and waited for her to sit down. As he did so, he called one of the oompa loompas over. He hadn't tried to get served alcohol since being at Ridgeway. When he'd drunk, Anna had always got the booze for him. Still, thanks to Bonnie's presence, he felt he was standing a little taller tonight and he wanted to give her what she asked for. "Two beers," he said to the oompa loompa who'd approached. "And do you serve mozzarella sticks?" The oompa loompa looked at him for a moment, but Jeremy stood his ground. Eventually, the little orange guy just nodded and headed off torwards the bar. Jeremy grinned, looking at Bonnie. "Beer and mozzarella sticks, coming up," he said.
There were a couple of menus laying on an empty table nearby, so Jeremy grabbed them and handed one to Bonnie as he sat down.
