He didn't make any comment at the startled movement, simply lowering his hand again. Who knew the reason for it? And who would he be, to judge? He'd seen his share of terrified men. Had led them in to battle against impossible odds. Fear wasn't something he judged them for. He had his own, besides.

As for why? A man named Petersen brought us here. Or, technically he's a God, not a man. I'm not quite sure on that point. Either way, he will say he brought you here for your own good. He didn't like Petersen, but it wasn't his intention to convince others to distrust him. "Some believe him, some don't. You can speak to him, on the phone you were given. You can speak to anyone here. You might even find someone here you know."
