Adam's jaw dropped. Fine, so he had been telling himself that he'd seen it all - really, how could he not considering he had been to heaven and hell. It only figured that there couldn't be too much the "in-between" had left to offer to surprise him. And yet this certainly wasn't what he had expected. The man was fully armed for a medieval re-enactment!
"Er..." Adam said eloquently and forced himself not to take a step back. 'You faced the devil,' he told himself sternly. 'Ignore that you got your ass kicked and stand your ground!' And he did, albeit with wide, surprised eyes.
"Hello. Let me guess, we're roomies?" This was just like getting a room-mate assigned back in university, Adam told himself. Nothing different. Aside from the fact that his room-mates there never seemed to develop the urge to run around with swords. Or a really real bow.
