Anna didn't realize she'd passed out until she woke up. The first thing she realized was that Johan was snuggled up against her. Her eyes fluttered but didn't open. She wrapped one hand around his neck and dropped the other on his nose, scratching gently. But it was just a minute or two before she realized that something else was different.
She sat up suddenly, nearly knocking Johan off the bed as she did. Her nostrils flared, unable to find the right words. She wasn't really sure what had happened. Was it his fault? Did he do something? Was he using Johan against her? Had he come to protect her? No, that couldn't be it. He didn't care that much. At all. He didn't care at all.
Her stomach tensed before she could get a word out and Anna grimaced, dropping her hand to press against their son, trying to relax again. It wasn't easy. "What did you do?"
