Jeremy looked down at her, feeling awkward. He shoved his hands in his pockets. "Like..." He cleared his throat. "Like she told me you and me are dating where you're from..." That's what she was really asking about, wasn't it? He took a deep breath, looking down at his feet. "Look, we can talk about it upstairs." He moved his eyes back up to her face before slowly lifting his hand to tuck her hair behind her ear. He chewed his lip as he looked at her. "Come on," he said, nodding up the stairs before turning and beginning to climb again.
When he reached the landing, he crossed to the door to his room and pushed it open, waiting for her. It didn't really feel like his room yet, just a place he had been assigned.
