Who: Gibbs and Marian Where: Cabin 003 When: The morning after Robin has left What: Working some Gibbs baby magic Rating: Low Status: In progress. It hadn't taken long for Gibbs to take over the basement. Or at least a part of it. He had already started the bones of a boat, after building a workstation of course. He needed it after Heather hurt herself after he'd given Tony orders to protect her. It took keeping his hands busy to keep from strangling his senior field Agent. Though as he was corrected, he wasn't his Boss here. Tony didn't need to follow his gut. Right. How he knew why Gibbs always, always, trusted his gut.
After cleaning a few of the tools he had borrowed, though she'd said they were for him and not truly borrowed, from the maintenance shed. He moved up the stairs and out of the basement. The coffee that he'd set to brew was calling to him. The sounds of a baby's cries reached his ears. Firming his lips he poured two mugs, rather than one. And thought it was time to intervene. Normally he wouldn't but he'd noticed the chatter, he knew her husband was gone. And in a way Robin Hood was like a Marine. Before there were Marines.
With care he climbed the stairs, so that none of the hot beverage would slosh out onto his hand. He wasn't sure how she would like her coffee, or if she even would. But it was something. A reason for him to offer to hold the baby while giving her, no doubt, jostled nerves a rest. Shifting both mugs to one hand he rapped gently on their bedroom door, and waited for her to answer.
