Teddy sighed. He should have known Hermione would be able to tell what he was thinking. She really was the brightest witch of her age. And scarily mature for a fourteen year old.
He looked down at her, his eyes sad. "The first I knew about Vic getting sent home was when I went into our room and all her stuff was gone. It was horrible, but there was nothing I could do about it..." He chewed his lip. He was avoiding saying the obvious. "He wouldn't stand you up, Hermione," he said softly. "You know that as well as I do."
"I'll tell you what, I'll text Sirius and ask if he's still on the map." Easing away from her, he stood up and padded across the room to where his phone was lying on the sideboard. It only took him a few seconds to send the message. He sent it to Dom. He knew Sirius was hopeless with muggle technology, even now. He hoped he wasn't disturbing her, especially now she was pregnant again, but after a few minutes, she replied saying she'd sent Sirius off to check. He walked back across to Hermione and sat beside her again, holding out his arm so she could lean against him again. "Shouldn't be long," he said, trying to muster a smile.
