WHO: Elena and Katherine WHEN: Friday Night WHERE: Katherine's cabin and her room WHAT: Comforting Katherine RATING: TBD STATUS: Incomplete
Elena was probably making a deadly mistake going and seeing the heartbroken Katherine. The woman could easily kill her. It was easy for vampires to turn off her emotions. For a brief shining moment, all four of them had been happy. Elena couldn’t even bring herself to be angry that Damon and Katherine had wished for such things. It wasn’t as if they had intentionally decided to break up Stefan and Elena. They had too much honor for that. Besides, her being mad at them would be hypocritical. She had slept with Damon. And not just in the bed she had shared with Stefan, she had slept with him all over the house. She had been contemplating letting him turn her. She had let him FEED off her! No, being mad at Katherine wouldn’t be fair. She only wished there was a way to make everyone happy. Damon and Katherine didn’t deserve misery. They didn’t deserve to keep coming in last.
Normally, Elena was polite enough to wait to be invited in the house, but today she just walked in. The roommates would possibly mistake her for Katherine anyway, so who cared? Quietly she slipped into the kitchen and poured a some burbon in a glass with some ice before heading upstairs to Katherine’s room. What she saw broke her heart.
Katherine was curled on her bed, trying not to cry. The look of pain on her face was devastating and it made Elena feel even guiltier and even more horrible for not being able to fix things. Katherine didn’t deserve such pain. No matter what she had done in her past, and no matter what Katherine would do to Elena for taking Stefan way from her, Katherine didn’t deserve the pain she was so obviously going though.
Placing the glass of bourbon down on the nightstand, Elena sat on the bed next to Katherine and quietly gathered the woman in her arms simply to hold her and stroke her hair soothingly.
