Who: Quinn Fabray and Noah Puckerman What: Quinn is missing their baby and Puck is trying to cheer her up. Where: Cabin 4, probably Quinn's room. When: Backdated to Tuesday night Warnings: Probably not too many, she's depressed.
Before Puck had gotten sent home, Quinn had been with him and aside from the whole being pregnant part, things had been good. Before she got sent home, she would have been happy to see him back here, but she couldn't pretend that in the time she spent at home, things had changed. The summer without him, the semester without him, juvie. It all put things into perspective for her--Noah Puckerman hadn't changed. Then she met Sam. Sweet, wonderful Sam, who she missed terribly. But not as much as she missed Beth right now.
She knew that giving up her daughter was the best thing for her. When her mother asked her to come home, she had offered to turn the spare room into a nursery, but Quinn and Puck were still in high school. They weren't old enough to have a baby. It was really best for Beth to be with someone who could take better care of her. But it had been a lot harder than Quinn would have imagined. She had tried not to get too attached to the baby. She hadn't even wanted to name it, but Puck had insisted on naming her Beth, and she knew that when Shelby adopted her, she gave her that exact name. But with or without a name, Quinn knew now that it wouldn't be any easier. She loved her baby more than she was willing to admit to anyone. And it hit her even harder on the 8th of every month. A reminder that her baby girl was another month older.
She'd been determined to stay in her room and accept no company and it worked well until Puck realized why she was so upset and offered to come over and bring her anything. She hadn't spent the day gorging on ice cream, in fact she had eaten regular enough meals, but right now she wanted chocolate, and Puck was willing to bring that to her. He hadn't quite lived to the point of proving to be a world-class disappointment yet, so Quinn, knowing from experience how hard it can be to be blamed for things that hadn't even happened yet, decided to try to put her distrust for him aside. At least a some of it. She definitely wasn't going to jump into a relationship with him. But maybe they could be friends with a common loss.
She changed from her sweatpants and shirt into something more her style, brushed her hair and brushed her teeth. She wasn't trying to impress him, really. She just had to be seen a certain way. And the Queen Bee of McKinley High could not be seen looking like a slob. By anyone. Not people from her fandom and not other people around here.
Once she was satisfied with her appearance--mostly--she still had tear streaks showing that she had been crying, but here wasn't time to put makeup on. So she figured she'd have to deal with that. He knew she was upset anyway. She just didn't know if it affected him the way it did her.
When she heard the knock on the cabin door, she went to answer it, see Puck standing on the other side. "Hey," she said softly, stepping back to let him in.
