Lily smiled brightly as soon as she saw her son, standing up to throw her arms around him, no longer concerned with whether or not the meeting would be awkward. She was simply to excited to see him. He was so big. And he looked just like his father. She could feel tears springing up in her eyes and she tried to blink them away. She was happy to see her son, but felt a pang in her heart at knowing that James wasn't here to see him as well.
"No, no, no. Don't be silly. You're right on time, Harry," she said, finally releasing him so that she could really look at him. "Merlin's beard, you're so big! And you look just like your dad. But you must hear that all the time, yeah?" she said with another bright smile.
