"Well, sort of. The third one kind of falls a bit," he admitted with a rueful laugh as their eyes met.
He smiled at her question. "I didn't mean it was a bad thing. Just a first. Usually it's...I'm sure you could guess what it used to be." He had the hint of a smirk on his face. She knew who he was, and he knew she knew, no point pretending the past wasn't what it was.
Those last words made him smile yet again, and at her movement he leaned down, pressing a kiss to her head. "Yeah," the word was a bit drawn out, and it might not be just her imagination if she thought it seemed as though he was wanting to say something in return. "I know."
