When he told her he was coming over, Jo finished off the beer she'd been drinking, then headed for the couch. She'd been drinking it to forget about her mom, and Cas's drugs, and the detox in New York, all so that she could maybe get some sleep. She'd been alone the night before and had gotten only a couple hours of sleep before she had woken up screaming into her pillow and clutching at her stomach. All she wanted was for the nightmares to go away. She didn't want to talk about them, because she thought that would make it worse, reliving them like that. All she wanted was for them to be gone.
By the time Cas arrived, she was half-dozing, curled up on the couch. She rolled over when she heard his voice, and smiled a little just at the sight of him, pushing a hand through slightly tangled hair.
