Sirius stared at Dom as she berated him in French. His parents had forced him to learn French once because every heir of a pureblood family should be able to have a conversation with their fellow French acquaintances. And that had been something that had made him dislike French instantly.
“But that kid would still be a normal kid, even if the situation wasn’t. With all the feelings a normal kid has.” Sirius shrugged. “And I wouldn’t have wanted to grow up here. Not when there’s the chance that one of my parents or both get sent away eventually.” It took all his willpower to say it. Sirius didn’t want to think about the possibility of it and normally banned it to the corner of his mind. If Dom left, he would not know what to do. Along with Lily she had become the anchor of his sanity. It hurt to see how less progress they had made in order to take control over this situation. Yes. But he started to fear making progress all the same. Dom would go back to her time and Sirius to his. Even if he managed to rescue James and Lily and survive Voldemort, he doubted that Dom would want to have a relationship with a lecherous old man. Hell, he did not want Dom to have that.
