"I'll head off in a minute. I don't want to be late for my first day," he said, before kissing her back, his eyes flickering shut for a moment. He knew she wasn't looking forward to being on her own here while he worked in the evening, but he didn't want to make waves that might stop Petersen from moving him into Elena's cabin. He didn't like all his stuff being over with Katherine.
Stefan scooped Hershey up in one arm, giving him a cuddle as he stood up and looked at Dom. He shook her hand with a smile before looking back down at the little dog. "You going to miss me?" he cooed to the ball of black fluff before laughing and placing the bundle back down on the floor.
"I wish I had more time to spend with you," he said to Dom. "Elena has told me so much about you, I've been looking forward to finally meeting you." He decided not to mention that Elena had been crying when she'd been speaking about her friends here. "You two should come by the restaurant later if you have time. I'll cook you something nice to eat." He slipped his arm around Elena, giving her a little squeeze. "Low carb, of course," he said. He knew she'd work out that he'd been listening to what they'd been saying.
