Stefan had spent most of the time he'd been here in Elena's cabin. He'd gotten a work schedual from the italian restaurant he was supposed to be working in which said he didn't start until the 27th December. He wondered why the person who had bought him here had violated just about every right a person could have by keeping him prisoner yet still observed public holidays. Still, he wasn't complaining. He had needed time to adjust to this place, and Elena had been upset these past few days which hadn't helped. He'd done what he could to help her, but otherwise stayed out of the way, trying to get his head around things.
However, he'd woken up this morning, with Elena by his side, and decided to make the most of being here. He was alive, Elena was alive, as far as he could tell nothing was trying to kill them, and apart from the presence of his delightful brother and ex-girlfriend, there wasn't much wrong with this place. He didn't mind the work he'd been given, and he got to spend Christmas with the girl he loved.
It was this new found optimism that had encouraged him to get out of the cabin and look around. Remembering which paths he'd taken, Stefan had wandered down hill until he came across a lake. It was quite large, and made for good scenary. Taking the path that ran alongside it, Stefan had finally come across some buildings which he presumed, from the names hanging above them, were part of the resort complex. Still, he wasn't too bothered about investigating too heavily just yet, so instead he had crossed to the trees and was now sitting on a fallen log, looking out across the lake. For once, though, he wasn't brooding, just thinking.
